Interview an immigrant

Before the interview, prepare a set of interview questions first.

Possible interview questions:

1) Where do you come from?
2) At what age do you come to Singapore?
3) What make you leave your country? Why did you come here? What are the reasons?
4) Is there a main reason for coming here?
5) What are some of your concerns before you come here?
6) What are some of your hopes when you come here?
7) What are your feelings about leaving home to come here?
8) What are the challenges that you faced when you arrive in Singapore?
9) What type of support is helpful to you when you arrive?
10) How long did it get you to settle down here in Singapore?
11) Is there anything you appreciate about living and working here?
12) How and how often do you keep in touch with your family and relatives?
13) Do you want to go back to your homeland one day? When?
14) Do you think you will recommend your friends to come here and work? Why or why not?
15) Are there anything else you can share with me?

The presentation of your interview can be in the form of a booklet (sketch book), a video clip or powerpoint slides. Do include a photograph of the person u have interviewed.

Alternatively,

You may choose to do a show and tell in one of the topics found in P4 Social Studies.
Choose one section in this unit and do some extra research ( on Internet, History books etc)

You are to do your presentation(show and tell) in the form of a chart, powerpoint slides or a booklet. (sketchbook) and share what HOPEFUL values u have learnt from this topic.

If your project is in the form of video clip for the interview, please submit it in the form of a VCD or DVD. If in the form of powerpoint slides for the interview or show and tell, please submit your thumbdrive. ( please write your name and class on whatever you submit to me)
